The UAV industry has grown substantially over the last decade.
A combination of technological improvements and changing security
requirements have made unmanned vehicles an increasingly valuable
tool.
Beyond the obvious advantage of reducing risk to personnel,
unmanned vehicles can perform functions that manned vehicles
cannot perform, in places where manned vehicles cannot go,
at lower cost than manned vehicles. UVs effectively serve
as a force multiplier.
There have been tremendous improvements in sensors, payloads,
autopilots/flight computers and related equipment. The cost
per hour and per unit of data generated is steadily dropping.
Sullivan has supported the increased capabilities by offering
power systems to match. Radar and Laser systems, for example,
require considerable electrical power. The vehicle needs a
lightweight alternator capable of supporting these devices.
The future of unmanned vehicles is very bright. Sullivan is
