The standard 76 mm alternator can be directly
driven by many engines from 5 cc to 25 cc.
It is rated for 150 watts at low cruise RPM.
It can also be belt driven by larger engines.

power ratings, special mounting situations,
high temperature applications or multiple

Pancake brushless alternators have no slip rings.
They have only one moving part -- a sealed ball
bearing -- which can be eliminated if the engine
or drive shaft has a rigid mounting ring for the
stator. They are typically very powerful and reliable
for their size and weight.
Pancake alternators are the most common style
of alternator used in size or weight sensitive
applications. They are efficient to produce in
volume, and can be easily scaled larger and smaller.
